I have been quilting since 1996, and have amassed several unfinished projects
over the years. I have found that I really have not been motivated to complete projects that I was once unstoppable about
before. I decided that I needed something to help me get moving before they took over my sewing room.
There are many projects that I want to do, but I am often held back by all the projects I have
left incomplete. The guilt of seeing them, moving them from place to place so that I can work on something else, kept me from
beginning anything new.
I realized that I was not alone in the struggle,
and perhaps I could help others in getting through their stash of projects in many different stages.
Like you, I have many projects I would like to do. I'll look at a magazine,
see a Quilting show on TV, or go to a quilt show and get inspired. Then I go out,get a bunch of supplies, and get to
work. Then the next project grabs my attention. Next thing you know, The cabinets and closet are full of unfinished
projects, and no quilts are getting done. I have tried many methods to get it all together. So far, I've just
been spinning my wheels.
I am doing something different now. Here is the basic plan, which will go more in depth within this website:
- Find and keep clear a space to sew
- Organize the fabric stash
- Inventory projects and their various stages
- Complete
a previously unfinished project every month
- Show the Finished
Project at Show and Tell
